Oct 5th 1937 - May 30th 2018
Passed away peacefully at home on May 30th 2018 to his eternal heavenly home after a struggle with cancer. John Armstrong, in his 81st year, beloved husband of Norma Jean for over 60 years. Loving father of John (Donna) of Big Stone , AB, Rob (Donna) of Innisfil, ON, Tammy (Brian) of St Josephs island, ON. Grandpa to Brandon, Taylor, Mark, Logan, Leah,Brett, Kieghan and Meryn; great Grandpa to Ladd, Shawnee,Beau, Parker, Emery, Gunner, Belle, Brynlee, Adeleigh, Iris and Remington . Dear son of the late Jim and Lottie Armstrong; brother of Max , Marion, Martha,Donelda and Verna (all deceased) and Jim(Murdena), Lee ( Vi), Edna ( Les) and Marjorie (Carl). Special brother-in-law to Helen and Jack Foster of Mississauga, Ont. Also survived by several hundred nieces and nephews. John spent 31 years at the Ministry of Transportation most of it keeping the snow off the roads in the winter and graded in the summer. He loved camping, fishing, hunting and taking Norma Jean to pick blueberries. He was gifted with great patience and could repair anything and always had time for a story... either his or yours. Public viewing at 1:00 pm on Saturday June 2nd at Thessalon Bible Chapel followed by funeral at 1:30 with interment at Cloudslee Cemetery following the service. A special thanks to Bayshore nurse Amy for her professional and compassionate care and to Dr Culina, Dr Lupien and Dr Buehner. Donations to Light Haven Home gratefully accepted.
